The Music Man Jr.
3:00 - 4:30
Meredith Wilson's classic story follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a kids' band he vows to organize. The catch? He doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the town's Librarian, whose belief in Harold’s power just might help him succeed in the end in spite of himself. The Music Man features some of musical theatre's most iconic songs, including "Seventy-Six Trombones," and "Shipoopi." This heartwarming show is a crowd-pleaser, and is sure to keep our students' toes tapping all year long!
When the draft selects rockstar Conrad Birdie, his fans are devastated, but none more than his struggling songwriter Albert Peterson, whose song Birdie was just about to record. Albert's longtime girlfriend, Rosie, pushes Albert to write a new tune that Birdie will perform on television to a fan, Kim McAfee, selected in a contest. When Birdie and his entourage arrive in Sweet Apple, Ohio to perform, the town is turned upside down by the visit. Boasting classic numbers like "Telephone Hour," "Sincere," and "Put on a Happy Face," Bye Bye Birdie is a full-family favorite!
