ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/VOICE COACH
Karen Tobey has been a voice and acting teacher for over 40 years and a professional singer and actress since the age of 3. An award-winning educator, her expertise lies in both teaching fundamentals of voice and drama to children of all ages, as well as refining the most professional young actors and singers in show business. Having launched over 100 careers in film, television and theatre, Karen’s roster includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt (2 time Golden Globe nominee), and Academy Award Winner Brie Larson. Karen teaches the whole child. She doesn’t only teach techniques to make them talented, but she also works on attitudes, motivation and work ethics. She feels the path to happiness is to work hard and maintain integrity and humility.
Rebecca is an award-winning choreographer, but her specialty really lies in giving confidence to new dancers and actors. She believes that with patience and respect to the process, any child can become a dancer! Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, she has studied dance since the age of 7 under Michael Newton and Sandra Morgan. She has also attended the Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago, working with jazz masters including Nan Giordano, Randy Duncan, Ray Leaper, and Homer Bryant.
Since she began working for Colorado Children's Theatre, Rebecca has strived to bring her love of dance and movement to all of her students. Her choreography and hard work helped our group of singers bring home an award for Excellence in Dance from the 2017 Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, GA, which she is immensely proud of.
Whether your child dances down the street or has never tapped their foot on the beat, Rebecca can make them look like a superstar!
Jason's fun, high energy teaching style makes him a fan favorite of Colorado Children's Theatre students, but he's also a talented actor.
